:    Six kinds of Vinegar people can taste (rice, cider, wine and more)

KID FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES:

      Inspector Collector:  Crafts projects for kids
Make-Up Mania : Pickle Face Painting


FREE LES BID TOURS:

      11AM: Learn about the LES’ retail culture. Meet at Katz’s Deli, corner of Ludlow and Houston.

     1:45 PM:  By Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy. Historic East Broadway, including The Henry Street Settlement, Shteibl Row, The Educational Alliance, Seward Park and Library, The Yiddish Daily Forward Building & Strauss Square; *Visit to Beth Hachasidim.De Polen, an original shteibl (one room synagogue). Browsing at Judaica shops on Essex Street, and back to Pickle Day. Leaves from 261 Broome Street, the LES BID Office.

       Learn about pickle science, NYC pickle history and the culinary traditions
 from all over the world, and right around the corner.

About Us

Established in 1992, the Lower East Side Business Improvement District (LES BID) is a non-profit, economic development organization created to revitalize the Orchard Street Shopping District while preserving its unique and diverse character. Today, the LES BID is a community of over 400 merchants and property owners managed by a Board of Directors and consisting of local merchants, property owners, residents and elected officials. The LES BID promotes the local businesses, hosts events and provides community beautification services including sanitation, security and graffiti removal.
